After we sold the house, Emma and I headed to New Orleans for Nationals. We started our trip at the car rental place. Let me just say that I fell in LOVE with our car. We rented a Chevy Equinox. It had a rear-view camera and bluetooth for my phone. It was awesome! I want one when it’s time to trade in my mini-van.
Anyway, we picked up our friends and headed to Bossier City for the night. My friend, Melissa, downloaded an app called Roadside America. This app pings off your current position and lists oddball attractions along your route. This app allows you to “instantly see what’s nearby – oddball monuments, Muffler Men, quirky museums, tourist attractions.” The app shows maps and driving directions as well as comments from other tourists who’ve visited the attractions.
We saw some pretty goofy/interesting sites on our way to New Orleans. It took us a LONG time to get there, but we really didn’t have a schedule so we weren’t in a hurry. It took longer, but we made some great memories along the way with friends we’re not likely to see again.
