I’m back with another installment of Exploring Walt Disney World. When my kids were younger, we did not really enjoy Epcot. They didn’t enjoy spending the day learning about the different countries. They didn’t love many of the rides in Future World. As they’ve gotten older, though, they’ve really come to like both sides of Epcot. We typically spend two days in Epcot on our trips, and we almost always make sure one of those days has Extra Magic Hours. We have closed the park down several times now that they’re older. Today, let’s explore our family’s favorites in Future World.
Counter-Service Meal: Sunshine Seasons
Sunshine Seasons is located in The Land Pavilion in Future World. This restaurant feels more like a food court since it has so many different options to choose from – like Cosmic Ray’s in the Magic Kingdom. Sometimes, I just need a break from chicken strips, pizza, and burgers. I like, too, that the decor offers a hint of the four seasons. They’re subtle, and actually, someone had to mention it to me before I recognized it.
Table-Service Meal: Coral Reef
On our last visit to Walt Disney World, we decided to try a new-to-us restaurant in Epcot’s Future World. I had heard great things about Coral Reef Restaurant, and we were excited about the giant aquarium that’s housed in the restaurant. It was great. The decor is beautiful. The food was excellent! There are over 85 species of fish, sharks, turtles, and sting rays swimming around in the aquarium that we were able to watch from our table. That was pretty cool.
Attraction: Club Cool
I had taken the kids to Epcot at least four times, before I ever discovered our favorite attraction in Epcot’s Future World. Some friends had asked me if we had ever visited Club Cool, and I didn’t even know what it was. So, it quickly moved to the top of our “must-do” list when we planned our last trip. Club Cool is located near Innoventions West. It’s really more of an exhibit sponsored by Coca-Cola where guests can sample 8 cola flavors from around the world. I tried a few, but I’m not brave enough to try them all. Isaac, my adventurous one, tried them all. Some were tasty, and some were … well… his face says it all.
Our Favorite Rides
We really have come to love the rides in Future World. From Test Track to Soarin’, my kids have a blast riding these rides over and over. I love Turtle Talk with Crush. I love when my kids are chosen to ask Crush questions. The things little ones come up with can be downright hysterical!
Check back next week when we explore the World Showcase in Epcot.
