I’m back after taking the day off from baking yesterday. My little sister flew from Dallas to Cinci for a job interview, and I only had a few hours to spend with her. Or so I thought! She’s stuck here in Cincinnati with us indefinitely due to the winter storm that’s sweeping across the country! Her flight home was cancelled and rebooked for Saturday. However, we are supposed to get 6+ inches of snow this afternoon so I’m not sure she’ll get out then. If not, she may be stuck until Monday as a new storm is supposed to bring more snow on Sunday. I’m enjoying the unexpected time with my little sis, and I’m excited to have her in the kitchen with Emma and me this weekend.
Today, we are baking up a family favorite. Christmas munchies weren’t complete without a platter full of Snowball Cookies. My Nana used to make them every year. She passed away shortly before Emma was born, but I think of her every time I eat one. Snowball Cookies are melt-in-your-mouth, nutty cookie balls rolled in powdered sugar. There is no ‘sneaking’ a Snowball Cookie, by the way, as the sugar will leave a tell-tale powder trail. 🙂

Check back tomorrow as we share a recipe that Emma picked out.
