My sweet girl has danced in a production of the Nutcracker for the past six years. This year, at her new studio, she was cast as a jester. She hated the costume, but I loved it! Her routine was super cute, and I’m so proud of her!
One of the backstage moms grabbed me in the lobby, and encouraged me to sneak back for a picture. She said Emma had been hunkering down amidst the costumes with a book in her downtime all week. I was able to shoot this picture before she even realized I was there.
We are so glad to be close enough for our families to come watch the show. Both sets of grandparents drove over to see Emma’s performances. An old friend we knew when we lived in this area six years ago also came to watch on opening night. Emma always performs better for an audience!
Each year, Emma receives a new Nutcracker when she performs in the Nutcracker Ballet. This year, she received quite a few. I got her one as I always do. Her DD and her friend, Sarah, each got her one, as well. Our collection is growing!
